If you want to enroll your child in North Texas Academy (grades 9- 12), but you feel you do not need the assistance of a teacher, this might be the program for you.
The student will take 5 courses, which include an English course, a Literature course, a Math course, one of the Social Studies courses we require, and a Science course. We will need to see the application for Parent is the Teacher Program and from there, we can determine what courses your child needs to do for that year. The math course will also include a Solutions Manual which gives the answer to each math problem in the student’s book as well as shows how to work each problem.
This program is not recommended unless the parent feels qualified to teach high school level courses and can be actively involved with the child.
The parent is the teacher, and the parent does all the teaching and grading of the lessons.
The work is not sent in every two weeks, as on the Traditional Extension Program, but sent in when the entire program has been completed at the end of the year.
A transcript will then be sent to the parent for their child’s work.
The cost is $1,345.00 and must be paid when you send in the application. This money is non-refundable.
If you would like to enroll in the Parent is the Teacher Program, please complete the application. It is titled “APPLICATION FOR THE TRADITIONAL EXTENSION PROGRAM AND PARENT IS THE TEACHER”.
The Parent is the Teacher Program cost $1,345.00 for one year of school. On this program, you will complete the application for Parent is the Teacher Program, and mail it to our school with a certified check in the amount of $1,345.00. This will purchase the books you need for that school year and the assignments that go along with each course. You will be the teacher for your child. You will grade their work and handle all problems with the student. You are their teacher. At the end of the program, after all the work has been completed, you will mail 30% of the school work to our school. This work has been graded by you, and you are simply showing some the work as proof that is was completed. Once we have a teacher look it over, a transcript will be mailed to you for your child.
